SEASON 01 FLOAT: “Elements Floating in the Air”

In the first season by Sona Vojaĝo, our focus turns to the broader Tibetan cultural region — spanning the Five Tibetan Provinces and the Himalayan rim. The central theme unfolds through the lens of the “Five Elements” in Tibetan natural philosophy, each element corresponding to a distinct realm.

The journey begins from the perspective of a horse — a symbolic entry point that allows us to more authentically capture five vignettes beneath the Himalayas, tracing a path from the mundane to the spiritual.

Through this season’s creations, we seek to convey fragmented glimpses of Tibetan life — not through narrative, but through scent and spatial construction.

These fragments are presented in a way that is entirely new — because the essence of life is not found in grand, dramatic moments,
but in the quiet, passing seconds of everyday existence.

We aim to tenderly and truthfully capture those fleeting moments that make up the poetry of daily life.

Sang 日桑

Scent Description：
From a bundle of pine branches, flames leap into the air,
releasing a soft fragrance and a veil of pale smoke.
Nearby, horses huddle close to one another; their eyes flicker in rhythm with the fire’s glow.
As the fire dies down, the remaining scent lingers — unexpectedly gentle and tender.

Inspiration：
At the turn of late summer into early autumn,
farmers of the Yalong region gather in the fields near their villages,
celebrating the season’s final labor with feasting and joy.

Once upon a time, the mythical ancient sea gave way to a fertile land infused with elemental richness.
A divine monkey as father, and Rauri as mother —
their descendants, bearing colorful arrows and prayer flags, circle the eternal fields
alongside their ornamented horses.

The aromas of wild fruit, barley, and grain wine bear witness to the sacred vows exchanged
between heaven, earth, and humankind.
