With spring, freedom has taken over Paris. It’s the time for encounters and discoveries.

The time for new beginnings. The time to take the risk of trying and starting over. To be swept away by the promise of something, even if one doesn’t really know what it is. In theory, they should never have crossed paths. Anonymous in the crowd, strangers. Each convinced of a future that seemed fairly set. But when the trees bloom again and the clouds disperse, everything becomes possible. Certainties crumble, making way for maybes. 

Prolégomènes sets the scene on a blank page, leaving the field open for what will happen next. It’s the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one. It’s a new love, a new start. Perhaps the chance of a lifetime. It’s the spark that ignites a new story.

NOTES DE BAS DE PAJE

(French for “Footnotes”)

Footnotes clarify, explain, and expand upon the main text, offering essential references that deepen the understanding of a story.

The way a narrative is perceived often depends on whether one takes the time to read these footnotes. Through them, we gain insight into the universe being described and discover its finer details.

In human relationships, the difference between interaction and connection—between acquaintances and friends, flirtation and love—lies in detail, interpretation, and the revelation of what remains unspoken. It is about allowing space to know more.

Footnotes are like fragrance. They evoke an object, a plant, a material, a memory, a place, or a person, translating what lies within a perfume’s formula into something intelligible and evocative—allowing us to imagine a scent even before experiencing it.

PAJE

PAJE refers to page, as well as the phonetic link created by “et” — the French word for and — connecting the founders’ names.

“Et” forms a duo: Pierre-Jr and Alice. Perfume becomes the footnote of individual stories and the beginning of a shared narrative.

They see life as a book: a succession of pages unfolding through chapters over time, where outcomes can never truly be predicted.

Each stage of life is a chapter—sometimes a continuation, sometimes a rupture.
Characters appear unexpectedly; others disappear after only a few pages.

NOTES DE BAS DE PAJE is the title of the stories we write through scent.
Ours. Yours.
Stories shaped by moments lived together or apart, by encounters, attempts, and choices.
