PERFUMER'S NOTE

For Cercle Sportif, I pictured a sun-drenched Saigon club where laughter carried over tennis courts and the air smelled of citrus cocktails and freshly cut grass. I imagined it green, sparkling, alive - like peeling a mandarin by the poolside, fingers sticky with mint.

I wanted the fragrance to hold nostalgia without heaviness: crisp cologne against sun-warmed skin, the quiet elegance of linen meeting the ease of summer. The opening burst of citrus is the ping of a tennis ball at dawn; the suede and myrrh in the drydown linger like the memory of a perfect afternoon. To me, Cercle Sportif is proof that true luxury isn’t about owning things—it’s about owning the moment.

THE SCENE

Paying homage to Saigon’s first sports and leisure club, Cercle Sportif recalls the quiet elegance of mid-century Saigon - the golden age of leisure.
Under white parasols, a game unfolds: tennis balls skim manicured courts, volleys met with low laughter. Beyond the baseline, the pool shimmers in the afternoon sun; a Campari sweats on the table.
Citrus lingers in the air, mingling with sun-warmed skin and crisp linen - marking unhurried afternoons of leisure and light.

VENUE is an independent fragrance house that bridges Asian heritage with an American creative sensibility—where scent becomes an artifact of cultural movement, connecting tradition, modernity & memory.

Origins

Our story began in 2015 as an experimental project space in New York City, where musicians and visual artists collaborated on unrealized ideas.

Founded by two Vietnamese-Americans with a shared passion for artistry and cultural dialogue, we've now channeled that creative spirit into fragrance.

Philosophy

We exist to bring stories to life while distilling the transformative power of cultural exchange to deepen our connection to the places we inhabit and imagine.
With a documentarian eye and artistic curiosity, for us scent is a medium for storytelling, identity, and expression—capturing the essence of moments, cultures, and experiences in compositions that resonate beyond the immediate.

SCENTED ARTIFACTS

Drawn from a deep reverence for culture and informed by film, music, literature and history, each fragrance, called a Scene, is built with archival rigor and careful detail, and developed in dialogue with sound and visual media.
