PERFUMER'S NOTE

When I created Bois de Langbian, I imagined the wind weaving through trees - that fresh, airy feeling of walking home within nature’s quiet symphony. It carried me back to childhood in Bogor: afternoons beneath the canopy, visits to the botanical garden with my parents, where everything smelled green, earthy, and somehow eternal.

I wanted the fragrance to hold that same tension between serenity and nostalgia - where woods feel textured and alive, like running your hand across bark. If this scent could speak, it would say: even as the world changes, memory remains.

* Alvin hails from Bogor, Indonesia - a city of mist, rain, and botanical gardens - echoing the cool, verdant spirit of Đà Lạt and the Langbian Plateau.

THE SCENE

Long before colonial roads wound through the hills and tea plantations blanketed the slopes, now modern-day Da Lat, the K’Ho and Mạ peoples called these mist-cloaked highlands home.
Their stories whisper through ancient trees and cascading waterfalls, like spirits guarding the land, holding its secrets deep in the fog.
At dawn, the mist lifts over dense rows of green and terraced hills, revealing the cascading slopes. The air is cool, carrying a whisper of pine, flowers, and distant rain. This is a place that captivates the soul of the wanderer, the seeker - those drawn to the beauty of the unknown moment.

VENUE is an independent fragrance house that bridges Asian heritage with an American creative sensibility—where scent becomes an artifact of cultural movement, connecting tradition, modernity & memory.

Origins

Our story began in 2015 as an experimental project space in New York City, where musicians and visual artists collaborated on unrealized ideas.

Founded by two Vietnamese-Americans with a shared passion for artistry and cultural dialogue, we've now channeled that creative spirit into fragrance.

Philosophy

We exist to bring stories to life while distilling the transformative power of cultural exchange to deepen our connection to the places we inhabit and imagine.
With a documentarian eye and artistic curiosity, for us scent is a medium for storytelling, identity, and expression—capturing the essence of moments, cultures, and experiences in compositions that resonate beyond the immediate.

SCENTED ARTIFACTS

Drawn from a deep reverence for culture and informed by film, music, literature and history, each fragrance, called a Scene, is built with archival rigor and careful detail, and developed in dialogue with sound and visual media.
