SEASON 01 FLOAT: “Elements Floating in the Air”

In the first season by Sona Vojaĝo, our focus turns to the broader Tibetan cultural region — spanning the Five Tibetan Provinces and the Himalayan rim. The central theme unfolds through the lens of the “Five Elements” in Tibetan natural philosophy, each element corresponding to a distinct realm.

The journey begins from the perspective of a horse — a symbolic entry point that allows us to more authentically capture five vignettes beneath the Himalayas, tracing a path from the mundane to the spiritual.

Through this season’s creations, we seek to convey fragmented glimpses of Tibetan life — not through narrative, but through scent and spatial construction.

These fragments are presented in a way that is entirely new — because the essence of life is not found in grand, dramatic moments,
but in the quiet, passing seconds of everyday existence.

We aim to tenderly and truthfully capture those fleeting moments that make up the poetry of daily life.

The courtyard bathed in moonlight, the forest serene in fragrance.

As the forest breathes, the heart finds its full moon.

In the autumn of the Year of Yisi,
Sona Vojaĝo proudly presents the Mid-Autumn Limited “香林海.”

Infused with the aroma of sacred Tibetan botanicals,
and grounded in the simplicity of hand-shaped black pottery,
it creates a tranquil sanctuary for the soul.
As the fragrance flows, one may gaze upon the moon—and within the heart.

Within the 香林海, one finds calm, clarity, and meditation.

During ancient Tibetan lake and mountain rituals,
countless sacred plants either breathe with nature
or are purified by sacred flames,
releasing their unique fragrances.
It is believed that such natural aromas delight the deities
and purify all dimensions of space.

Fragrance holds energy—
mysterious and profound.
When rich aromas gather in the valleys,
when essences of different origins rise together,
the fragrance lingers endlessly.

Myths speak of Mount Gandhamadana,
a sacred mountain where the air is eternally perfumed—
a true “Sea of Fragrance.”

Three seasonal botanicals from the highlands are hand-harvested
and preserved in artisan-crafted black clay jars.
A few drops of essential oil are added—
to smell the forest, to rest in the sea of scent.

Natural Ingredients

སུར་དཀར་ (Flower) / ད་ལིས་ (Tree) / Rhododendron Primula
A common ingredient in Tibetan sang incense rituals.
Warm and slightly astringent in nature,
it harmonizes the body’s balance and releases stagnation.

ཤུག་པ། Tibetan Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens)
Revered as the “eternal source of fragrance.”
Its grounding aroma purifies, soothes the mind,
and guides one into deep meditation.

མ་ནུ། / མ་ནུ་པ་ཏྲ་ Tibetan Costus Root (Saussurea lappa)
A traditional aromatic and medicinal root.
Its distinct scent calms the heart and nurtures restful sleep.
Derived from Sanskrit Manupatra, meaning “heart’s blossom,”
it symbolizes serenity—like a swan resting on a sacred lake.

Exclusive Black Pottery Vessel

Each 香林海 vessel is handmade by artisans,
continuing the design inspiration of the first collection, Mount Sumeru.
It enhances any living space,
creating a sea of scent for grounding and meditation.

When the ceramic lid is lifted,
it marks a momentary farewell to chaos.
Amid the 香林海, the scent soothes agitation,
steadies the mind,
and guides one into deep, ocean-like rest.
