Wooden TEMPLE Handcrafted Ceramic Diffuser
A Hidden Sanctuary In The Forest Enveloped In Zen Fragrance.
A subtle yet omnipresent Zen scent quietly guides the senses, as if entering a temple nestled deep within a secluded forest. The long-wandering soul finally finds a peaceful haven.
Zen Conceptual Essence
Descending Steps – Entering The Zen Gate – Seeking Along The Stream – Following The Fragrance Upwards
Rooted in the core of Zen, Wooden TEMPLE follows a spiritual and physical progression—a journey inward. Each step reflects meditative behavior, forming a unique “Zen perspective” as a sensory and spatial experience.
Ceramic Form of Zen
Jingdezhen, where Heaven, Earth, and Humanity converge, was chosen as the birthplace of Wooden TEMPLE. Local clay and wood express Zen through a ceramic form that challenges the limits of craftsmanship while embodying a unique and multifaceted presence.
Seven Holes Symbolism
"Seven" is more than a number—it is a metaphor for enlightenment. According to legend, Buddha took seven steps at birth, each blooming a lotus, symbolizing transcendence beyond the Six Realms into awakening.
Six slender reed sticks surround one thick core within the seven-hole design, guiding fragrance upwards—a symbolic journey from Samsara toward spiritual liberation.
Three-Step Zen Gate
A fragrance ritual: descending into stillness, ascending with scent. Pouring the fragrance through three tiered steps into the vessel transforms a habitual act into a Zen gesture. The scent rises gently through the reeds—slow, calm, intentional.
The Multifaceted Form
Though ceramics and Zen naturally align, Wooden TEMPLE seeks uniqueness through asymmetry and tension. Its multifaceted form reveals a new perspective from every angle—a balance between stillness and motion.
Wooden Packaging Design
While ceramic expresses Zen, wood encapsulates it. The seven-hole symbolism is carved within the four Chinese characters on the box—revealing a hidden temple within. Structural details ensure security and ceremonial depth, extending Zen through material and function.
Typography & Iconography
Chinese typography draws from bold Song typefaces—restrained, flat, and strong—abandoning calligraphic softness in favor of grounded Zen strength. English type balances tradition with modernity through sans-serif forms and thoughtful detailing.
Four symbolic patterns derived from key ceramic features are geometrically rendered and paired with text. These visual systems extend across packaging, posters, and brand visuals, forming a complete narrative identity.
