ANT AND DEWDROPS sketches an imagined juxtaposition of ants, dewdrops, and an observer. Within this temporary constellation, a fragile field emerges, suspended between formation and disappearance.
The work reinterprets one of the countless moments of convergence that have unfolded throughout the long history of natural evolution. Dewdrops condense and evaporate. Ants trace quiet trajectories across the ground. Each follows its own temporality and mode of existence, yet all participate in the same material cycle. What is contingent is not their coexistence, but the moment in which they are perceived.
The work invites a pause from the habit of placing all things within a human-centred narrative. Instead, it turns attention toward forms of order that exist independently of us. In this fleeting constellation, vitality reveals itself not through permanence, but through the brief alignment of different lives, each unfolding according to its own rhythm.
ANT AND DEWDROPS completes the imagined landscape shared with SEED. Conceived as a quilted textile mat, embroidered ants form delicate linear traces while beaded dewdrops appear as luminous points, composing a tabletop landscape where order emerges through the quiet coexistence of natural forms.
