Amoureux du Temps evokes a feeling suspended somewhere between the sweetness of life and nostalgia.

It is a bittersweet pleasure, like an orange blossom-scented brioche warmed by the sun. A feeling to linger over by the sea, shared with someone you love or simply enjoyed in your own company—an invitation to savor the present moment.

It begins with the freshness of the coast and the gentle breeze of the Mediterranean. This sensation is expressed through softly tart citrus notes, particularly bergamot and Italian mandarin essential oils. Both come from Calabria, a region renowned for its exceptional terroir and the quality of its citrus fruits.

To give this freshness greater texture and depth, Paraguayan petitgrain essential oil—distilled from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree—is layered with neroli essential oil and orange blossom absolute. The bitter orange blossom absolute from Tunisia reveals a distinctly different character: rich, full and generous, obtained through a particularly meticulous extraction process. Here, it brings warmth to the fresh citrus-floral profile, like sunlight shimmering across the surface of the sea.

This sense of simple pleasure eventually gives way to something delicious. Like a little treat tucked away to be enjoyed without guilt while gazing across the open horizon—made even better, perhaps, with someone you love by your side.

The inspiration comes from Fougassette, a traditional Mediterranean brioche flavored with orange blossom. From this comes a distinctive accord: orange blossom, naturally, joined by a “flour” accord composed of upcycled Virginia cedarwood essential oil, cereal notes and crushed wheat, before finishing with a delicate touch of vanilla.

The fragrances of Bontemps Paris are created by the brand’s co-founder and perfumer, Florian Gallo. A perfumer at dsm-firmenich, Gallo has helped shape Bontemps’ distinctive olfactory language, drawing on emotions and everyday experiences to translate feelings that are difficult to put into words into scent.

The debut collection, Les Joies et Les Peines, explores the joys and sorrows of life through three emotions—nostalgia, tenderness, and courage—expressed respectively through Amoureux du Temps, Bonjour Tendresse, and Le Grand Saut.

In Gallo’s work, natural ingredients meet contemporary aroma molecules, including materials derived from recycled and sustainable sources, balancing emotional storytelling with precise formulation. For Bontemps, perfumery is more than the composition of aromatic materials; it is another language through which memories, emotions, and moments of everyday life can be made tangible.

Founded in Paris in 2023, Bontemps Paris is an independent brand devoted to perfume culture, existing between a fragrance media platform and a house of fine fragrance.
