Born from Agar Archive’s renewed observation of the overlooked fragments of nature embedded in everyday life, SEED turns its attention to plant life, exploring the subtle points where nature and human society intersect and revealing the intricate relationship between plants and people.

Seed pods are among the most familiar botanical structures in daily life. As the fruits of legumes and other flowering plants, they appear around us in countless forms. Through food, oils, dyes, landscaping, and other uses, they have become deeply integrated into everyday life—almost to the point of invisibility.

For centuries, seed pods have been regarded as gentle providers, valued primarily for what they offer us. This familiarity, however, can obscure their inherent wildness and vitality.

When our everyday experience of plants as something edible or useful overlaps with their autonomous life force, the seed pod can be released from its purely utilitarian identity and seen again as a complex, abundant, and ever-changing living form.

With SEED, Agar Archive deconstructs and reinterprets the familiar image of the seed pod, returning it to everyday life in the form of a scent diffuser. Its biomorphic silhouette immediately evokes the shape of a pod, while cast glass and natural crystals create an unfamiliar visual quality, inviting a renewed perception of the plant itself.

The function of SEED remains intentionally open-ended. Conceived initially as a scent diffuser, it leaves room for each user to discover and assign other meanings and ways of living with the object.

Please note that the appearance and intensity of the glass color may vary depending on surrounding light and background conditions. Product images are therefore for reference only and should not be regarded as a definitive standard for color.

Directions for Use：Apply 2–3 drops of diffuser oil directly onto the crystal beads. Allow approximately 3 minutes for the oil to absorb, then place the object in an area with indirect light.

Ambient temperature and humidity will naturally affect the rate of fragrance diffusion.

For best results, we recommend using low-viscosity natural essential oils.

Gift Box Packaging

The packaging is designed as an extension of the object itself and the experience of encountering it.

• Layers of cotton cord create a gradual, tactile unwrapping experience.
• The object is secured in a presentation inspired by botanical specimens.
• Natural plant fiber is used as cushioning between the crystal beads and cast glass. It may also be retained during everyday use to help release the essential oil more gradually.
• In keeping with an environmentally conscious approach, the packaging has already been designed with sufficient protection for transportation and does not require an additional rigid shipping box.

About the Traditional Lost-Wax Glass Casting Process

Traditional cast-glass craftsmanship, also known as lost-wax glass casting, is a centuries-old artisanal technique whose origins in China can be traced back to the Han dynasty.

Using natural mineral-based materials, each piece undergoes more than ten meticulous stages, including wax sculpting, mold-making, high-temperature firing, cooling, and polishing. The result is glass with a warm, translucent quality and richly preserved details.

Because each piece is cast from an individual mold, variations in texture, translucency, and light transmission naturally occur, making every piece unique.

Mineral Inclusions & Color Specks｜These features originate from naturally occurring minerals within the glass material and emerge during the high-temperature firing process. Their appearance, distribution, and coloration vary from piece to piece.

Air Bubbles｜During the handcrafted firing process, small amounts of air may become naturally trapped within the molten glass, forming tiny bubbles. The number, size, and shape of these bubbles vary in every piece.
